Drawing Together is a project initiated by artist Deborah Aguirre Jones that brings women together in conversation through drawing. City Edition Studio designed and printed the publication and packaging which is formed from torn paper and a risographed belly band.
The latest Arnolfini exhibition guide has just been uploaded to the Work page. The most recent show, Museum Show, has a different format than the previous guide. The show is larger and more ambitious so the guide needed to be too. Each work was given it's own 4 page risographed guide, mostly designed by City Edition Studio with a small number designed by the artists or galleries involved in the show. An edition of 50 guides were bound together using metal clips and made available and given to visitors to the show's private view. James Langdon designed the cover.
City Edition Studio is moving. Our new address is City Edition Studio, Epstein Building, Mivart Street, Bristol, BS5 6JF.
Just uploaded are a selection of new projects. First is a newspaper publication created for Deborah Aguirre Jones. It documents a 'pilgrimage of sorts' into the Black Mountains in Wales and forms part of her show at Brecknock Museum & Art Gallery. Also added is the latest Exhibition Guide and Texts booklet for Arnolfini's summer exhibition, The Sea Wall. The promotional material for The Sea Wall has also been updated with some photos of the outdoor graphics, which include window graphics, flags, and posters.
New work for Arnolfini and Eugene Perera added. There's a preview mailer for Arnolfini's upcoming summer exhibition entitle The Sea Wall, with exciting work from Haegue Yang and Felix Gonzalez-Torres. Also included in the update is a very interesting collaboration with artist Eugene Perera, whose Untitled sculptural works include typography by City Edition Studio screen printed onto latex, which encapsulates plaster body casts. Combined with LED displays and recycled pallets it combines to create an intriguing piece of work.
New work for Arnolfini added. Exbihition Guide and Texts booklet plus a map for the current Arnolfini show Magical Consciousness. All printed in fluourescent pink ink on green stock.
Just uploaded is a new project for Arnolfini's latest show, Magical Consciousness, which considers when images are no longer enough and the potential in denying or obscuring images. The mailer was created using Photoshop's 'Content-Aware Fill' function, which asked the computer to fill in the areas around the text using data from the text areas. The result is a chaotic mixture of word fragments printed in metallic silver ink.
New projects have been uploaded, including work for Arnolfini and Yeovil District Hospital.
Talk and presentation on typographic practice given to students on the Typography & Print module of the Graphic Design course at UWE in Bristol on the 24th of February.
